About Plain Sight

Serious training without the intimidating atmosphere.

Plain Sight Firearms Training was built around a simple idea: responsible firearm training should be thorough enough to matter and approachable enough that people feel comfortable learning.

Good instruction isn't about showing students how much the instructor knows. It's about helping each student understand what they need to know.

That means creating an environment where a first-time shooter can ask a basic question without embarrassment while an experienced handgun owner can still gain meaningful knowledge about Colorado law, defensive judgment, responsible carry, and decision-making.

Our training philosophy.

We believe competent concealed carry rests on four foundations: safety, knowledge, judgment, and practical skill.

Marksmanship matters, but the decisions made before a firearm is ever drawn may matter more.

We emphasize recognizing problems early, avoiding unnecessary confrontation, understanding Colorado-specific responsibilities, making sound decisions during an emergency, and knowing how to respond safely after an incident.

Brian

Brian brings more than 30 years of firearms experience to Plain Sight Firearms Training, with a background that spans handgun shooting, competitive shooting, long-range precision, reloading, range safety, and adult education.

An active competitive shooter, Brian participates in handgun competition including USPSA and other action-shooting disciplines. He also serves in Range Safety Officer roles, conducting safety briefings, managing firing lines, and helping ensure shooters of varying experience levels can participate safely and confidently.

His firearms experience extends well beyond the handgun. As an experienced long-range shooter and handloader, Brian has spent years studying the fundamentals of marksmanship, firearm function, ammunition, and the small details that turn simply firing a gun into consistently shooting well.

Just as important, he has a background in adult education. His approach to firearms instruction is built around explaining not only what to do, but why—and adapting instruction to the experience level of the person in front of him. New shooters get patient, step-by-step instruction, while experienced shooters are challenged with material relevant to their existing skills.

Brian maintains professional firearms-instructor credentials and training in CPR and emergency bleeding control, and continues to train, compete, and develop his skills as both a shooter and instructor.

At Plain Sight, the goal isn't to create tactical operators. It's to develop safe, capable, knowledgeable gun owners who understand their firearm, know the law, and exercise sound judgment.

Safety. Skill. Sound Judgment.
